Hi everyone. I know most of you already know but we are thrilled to announce the birth of baby Abby born Aug 10.
We are really excited to have her home and I'm going to try to make this quick while she is napping.
I'm going to try to attach a picture to my photo album and hope it works. I've only done it once before and hope I remember how.
So the big day went as well as it could. My water broke at 5am and the doctor had said to head to hospital when the contractions were 5 minutes apart. WELL, at about 5:30 they started but they were already 2 minutes apart!!! OUCH! So off we all went. Gramma, W & J. Called cousin Y to meet us at the hospital so she could support W in case he decided that he didn't want to stay in the labour room. To make a long story short, after 7 and a half hours of hard labour the doctors decided that they needed to go in and take her out. Upon an examination they discovered baby girl had had her first bowel movement. If this happens they deliver right away to prevent infection. Also baby is now ingesting this. So within 20 min the docs were singing happy birthday to our little angel.
We are both doing well and were able to make it home on Saturday. I'm healing up fine. I did get an infection at the site of incision but after being on atibiotics for a couple of days I'm feeling much better.
W is the proudest big brother I've ever seen. He absolutely adores his little sister. J is doing great too. He even volunteers to change the messy diapers and is happy to be teaching W how to do the same!
Thank you to everyone who has stopped by with their congratulations.
Till we meet again.
Hi everyone. Well we are one week away from our official due date. I had a chat with the little gaffer this evening and told him/her that we are all ready and waiting! Still feeling good. Some days I have lots of energy and others I just can't seem to get motivated to do much of anything. I've never napped so much in my entire life. I've never been much of a napper but lately I can't seem to get enough sleep. I went for an ultra sound on Thursday. The doc just wanted to check on the growth of the baby because I've still been losing weight. I've only gained 8 pounds altogether. No problems though. the baby is just the size it should be! I guess I've just been losing in other places. Beleive me it feels and looks a heck of a lot more than 8 lbs protruding from the front. My belly button has turned inside out!
Well this is just a short post for now cause .... well..... I'm tired.
Hope to announce our new arrival next time.

Well I see I'm not the only one who slacks off in journaland! I guess everyone is too busy with summer activities. Now I don't feel so bad.
Well the baby is officially done and the doc says it can be any day now. J and W say I have to wait until anytime after Friday cause they are going to the Motley Crue concert in Vancouver. We have had the tickets for 4 months and they are really excited. Fortunately we have a ferry (Harbourlynx) that runs for some special events. They leave here at 3:30 on the boat, a bus charters them to the concert and back to the boat again so they will return the very same night! It's a great service. Otherwise they would have to take a vehicle and travel back the next day.
So, I'm feeling pretty good. The weather has been beautiful with a breeze too so it makes the heat tolerable. I'm grounded this week from the lakes and rivers as we don't want to risk anyone missing the concert!!! I don't mind hanging around the house. With all the windows open and the fan going it's actually quite nice. I've also been pretty tired and nap at least once a day. Of course I'm not sleeping well at night though. The doc says it doesn't matter when I sleep so long as I'm getting enough rest.
W is having a fabulous summer full of days at the beach, river, lake, mini golfing, skateboarding, bikeriding, hanging with cousins and friends. He has been a huge help to me during the last few weeks. He is going to be a wonderful big brother.
J's dad just moved to our local hospital this week. We are sooooo excited. He has been in Victoria for six weeks. He is healing up wonderfully and he is even allowed to go home for this next weekend. Just for a couple days at a time. He is still undergoing intense pysiotherapy and is also still waiting to be fitted for a prosthetic leg. He sure is happy to be back at this end of the island. Actually he works at our hospital so all the guys have been stopping by daily to chat. It has been wonderful for his recovery. J stopped by to see him last night and said he hasn't looked better for a least 5 months! He asked J to come back tonight and sneak him a fudgesicle after mom leaves!
Well I guess that is all for now, I'll try to keep everyone up to date with the baby news. I'm sure mom will update everyone when our new little one arrives.
Till we meet again....

Well I figured I should stop by with some updates. Journal land just may close down my site if I'm not using it enough!
So we are 29 weeks today! Wow! It just seems like yesterday that I was excited cause we were halfway along!
I'm feeling great still. My feet are usually puffy like sausages by the end of the day and I'm still sick every morning and I'm hot all the time and I'm getting irritable and I can't sleep and and and.....
Doesn't that sound GREAT!!! ???
Just kidding, it sounds way worse than it really is. Although all true it's not that bad. I only have a few weeks of work left and then we get to play the waiting game. I've chosen to finish work early so I can spend some quality time with W and let him enjoy being an only child just awhile longer. J and W and a friend spent their first day at the river yesterday. It was 30 degrees out but the river is still freezing!
! J said there were quite a few people there but only our son was the only one who spent most of the day in the water. He said most people would jump in and get out right away cause it's so cold! But not our boy... he should have been born a fish!! Of course he's bugging me to take him again today but I want to get some housework done before the boys get back with the truck and my moms belongings. It's going to be great having her live so close! W is really excited! He worries about her all the time that she doesn't rest enough. (what a good grandson!) AWWWW...
Well I guess I should get busy doing something. I've got a few days off but would like to get my chores done today so I'm free for the next two!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
Till we meet again.

!!!
.
! (oops. I mean
!)
I'm almost finished for the day or should I say for the next 18 days!!!
Yayyyy!
Tomorrow morning I'm heading to the video store to get some chick flicks and I'm going to flake all day!
Then the next I want to play with my nephew "B".
Then go shopping.
Then get "W" his haircut.
Then flake some more...
then....
then...
I'm so looking forward to some days off. But you know I'll probably get bored and miss work. As much as I complain I really love my job!
I'll post again in a couple of days when I have more to say!
My clients are showing up now. So take care everyone.
Until we meet again....
So the strangest thing happened this morning...
I went to get in the shower and I caught my reflection in the mirror and something just didn't look right. Upon further inspection it appears that the little gaffer has decided that it should stick to the right side today. It looks quite funny. I have this huge lump on the right side and the left is all squishy. It also feels a little awkward.
So the countdown is on until tomorrow at 7:30PM. I've taken 2 1/2 weeks holidays. I've started my to do list. But of course you all know how much I just love to procrastinate!!!
W and I will be heading over to Vancouver sometime during my days off and we plan to go to Playland with some cousins. Should be alot of fun! W doesn't do rides but I'm sure he'll manage to break me with all the games and goodies!!
Well as you all know if I'm posting it must mean I'm at work so I guess I should probably get some done. People are starting to give me strange looks with my feet up on the desk and all!!!!
Enjoy the day!
